What’s Happening at St. B’s for the week of May 18, 2008

Sunday          We celebrate the Holy Eucharist at 8:00 and 10:30 am. Refreshments and fellowship are available after both services in the Parish House.

                       The Parish Nurse, Mary Warfield, is available for confidential Blood Pressure Checks and health consultation in the Library following both services.

                       Christian Formation for all ages is available from 9:15-10:15 am. Faith Forum for adults meets in the Parish House, led by Joan Norman from One Straw Farm. The Bible Study group meets in the Parish House Library, continuing their work with the Gospel according to Mark. The youth groups meet in the Youth House. And last, but certainly not least, Godly Play for children age 3-grade 5 meet in the Undercroft. The program year ends today and regular Sunday classes resume in September!

                       The Outreach Committee meets in the Rector’s Office at 12:15 pm.

Monday        At 12 noon, we hold a brief service of Noonday Prayer in the Chapel. Also at noon, a community NA group gathers in the Undercroft.

                       Our spring Red Cross Blood Drive takes place at Hunting Ridge Presbyterian Church from 2—8 pm. Join members of other churches in the 40 West area in supporting this important outreach opportunity  The Handbell Choir practices at 7:00 pm in the Undercroft.

                       Each week an open, interfaith group gathers in the Chapel at 7:30 pm for thirty minutes of silent Christian meditation, preceded by a brief reading and followed by optional sharing. All are welcome.

                       At 10 pm, a community NA group gathers in the Undercroft.

Tuesday        At 12 noon, we hold a brief service of Noonday Prayer in the Chapel. Also at noon, a community AA group gathers in the Undercroft.

                       The Vestry meets in the Parish House at 7:30 pm. All Vestry meetings are open, and members are welcome to attend.

Wednesday   The Classics, our fellowship and education group for adults ages 55 and up, meet from 11:00 am—1:00 pm in the Parish House. We celebrate our end-of-the year picnic; bring picnic food to share!

                       At 12 noon, we hold a brief service of Noonday Prayer in the Chapel. Also at noon, a community NA group gathers in the Undercroft.

                       The Investment Committee meets in the Parish House at 7:00 pm.

                       At 10 pm, a community NA group gathers in the Undercroft.

Thursday      You are invited to gather for Morning Prayer at 8:30 am in Trinity Chapel. Coffee and a nosh will be available after the service.

                       At 12 noon, we hold a brief service of Noonday Prayer in the Chapel. Also at noon, a community AA group gathers in the Undercroft.

                       The St. Francis Choir & Choristers practice in the Undercroft and Parish House at 5:15 pm. The St. B’s Choir practices in the Undercroft at 7:30 pm.

                       At 10 pm, a community NA group gathers in the Undercroft.

Friday           At 12 noon, we hold a brief service of Noonday Prayer in the Chapel. Also at noon, a community NA group gathers in the Undercroft.

                       Our community Girl Scout troop meets at 6:00 pm in the Youth House. 

                       At 8:30 pm, a community AA group gathers in the Undercroft.

Saturday       At 12 noon, we hold a brief service of Noonday Prayer in the Chapel.

May 31      The Chalicists and Lectors gather in the Parish House at 10:30 am.

June 1       The Parish Picnic is just around the corner! Plan to spend the afternoon at the Pickall Area of Patapsco State Park once again. Tickets and details will be available soon.

June 4       All those involved in planning our corporate life together, including committee Chairs and members of the Vestry, are invited to our annual Program evaluation & planning meeting beginning with a pot-luck supper at 6:15 pm and concluding with a brief worship at 8:30 pm.  Contact Laura in the Church Office if you are able to attend.

June 8       The St. Bartholomew’s Choir, accompanied by a chamber orchestra of authentic period instruments, presents Haydn’s “Lord Nelson” Mass at 7:30 pm in the Church. Members and friends are invited to recognize friends or loved ones in the concert program through advance donations. See the website (www.stbartholomew.ang-md.org) for details and a gift form.
