The Book of Common Prayer is our primary book of worship. In addition, we regularly use liturgical material from Enriching Our Worship and Intercessions for the Christian People in our services. We read from the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible in our worship. We follow the Revised Common Lectionary for Sunday worship, and the Book of Common Prayer for the daily offices (both print resources and a podcast are available).
The Christian Formation resources we use with children, youth, and adults come from a variety of sources. Our children’s programs use Godly Play. Journey to Adulthood and other resources developed by Leader Resources are used by our youth groups. Most of our adult programs use resources from within our congregation, but we regularly offer programs created by Living the Questions. We support our members in participating in Education for Ministry programs. We take part in programs (including summer camps for children and retreats for adults) at The Claggett Center. Our annual women’s retreat is held at The Claggett Center.
Our ministries with others are very important to us. St. B’s has an active prayer and ministry group in the Margaret Rollo Chapter of the Daughters of the King. St. B’s hosts a seasonal Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in cooperation with One Straw Farm. We support the efforts of Episcopal Relief and Development in their attempts to heal a hurting world, and also support the UN’s Millennium Development Goals by participating in the ONE Episcopalian campaign.
