Music Opportunities at St. Bartholomew's

Children’s Choirs(Grades K through 8)

The Children’s Choirs at St. Bartholomew’s allow children to learn to worship God through the power of music, to let them use their gifts for the ministry of the church, and experience the joy of creatively and artistically communicating the gospel of Christ.  Through music, chilren’s choir is an excellent opportunity for Christian education.

This choir sings about once a month. Rehearsals are on Thursday afternoons.

The St. Bartholomew Choir (Youth and adults)

This ensemble is the main musical leadership at St. Bartholomew's 10:30 service. Stylistic variety is important for the selection of anthems: Anglican chant, baroque, contemporary, and Mendelssohn to motets, all with or without instrumental accompaniment. New members are always welcome, regardless of experience, and short-term participation opportunities are offered. The biggest requirement is the willingness to work!

Instrumentalists

The regular use of instruments other than the organ is a vital part of the worship experience at St. Bartholomew's. Instruments recently in use include the flute, violin, and trumpet, as well as an occasional brass ensemble.
